POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT RECIPROCATING PUMPS:




Reciprocating pump: A reciprocating pump is a positive plunger pump. It is often used where relatively small quantity of liquid is to be handled and where delivery pressure is quite large. 

Types:

(a) Plunger Type
(b) Piston Type
(c) Diaphragm type

Power end Horizontal pump: That portion of the pump in which the rotating motion of the crankshaft is converted to a reciprocating motion through connecting rods and crossheads.
